Heinzenhausen

Heinzenhausen at the Lauter is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Lauter corners.

Geography

The place is located in the Lauter valley in the north- Palatinate mountains. To the north is Lohnweiler, in the southeast Hohenöllen and south is Wolfenstein.

History

First mentioned was the place in the year 1279th Heinrich von Hohenecken and his wife Margarete offer the King Rudolf the I. as compensation for the sale of the farm means Rohrbach including a meadow in Heinze man Husen on. It later belonged to the county Veldenz, later to Electoral Palatinate.

Interpretation of the name: in 1279 and 1282 Heinze man Husen; 1379 Heintz Husen; 1380 Heintzinhusen; 1387 Heintz Hausen; 1787, 1828 and 1837 Heinz Stockhausen. Diminutive of Home Rich or younger Heinrich on Heino and Heini to Heinzemann. The nickname Heinzemann is an educational, as in 13-14. Century was particularly popular. Thus we get a hint about the origin of the name Heinz Stockhausen (see E. Christmann - The settlement names in the Palatinate ). .
