Henschtal

Henschtal is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Glan- Münchweiler.

Community structure

Henschtal consists of the two districts Haschbach and Trahweiler and the hamlet Sangerhof.

History

The municipality was established on June 7, 1969 by the merger of the municipalities Haschbach ( Amtsg. forest Mohr ) and Trahweiler.

It was after Hensch stream, the stream that flows through the village in the middle, named. He separated the two former villages Haschbach and Trahweiler that form together now Henschtal. Trahweiler belonged in 1350 to the county Veldenz, later the Duchy of Palatinate -Zweibrücken, while Haschbach was under the Munchweiler valley, a fief of the monastery of Hornbach, the Raugrafen of new Baumburg. As a fief of the place was zweibrückisch and came by marriage or purchase to Messrs. von der Leyen.

The local council in Henschtal consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village runs the B 423 in the north- east is a junction of the A 62 in Glan- Münchweiler is a railway station of Glantalbahn.
