Duchroth

Duchroth is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Bad Münster am Stein- Ebernburg.

Geography

Location

Duchroth lies 240 m above sea level in the recreation area Rheingrafenstein, south of the Hunsrück, between the spa town of Bad Kreuznach and the gem city Idar -Oberstein, close to the neighboring home or at Glan where the Glan opens into the Nahe.

Climate

History

The place was first mentioned in 1128 in a document of the Archbishop of Mainz Adalbert I as Royde; it refers to the time of Archbishop Willigis ( from 975 ). This village is obliged to entertain the St. Mary's Chapel on the Disibodenberg partially.

In 1418 fought Duke Stephan von Zweibrücken, son of Emperor Rupert of the Palatinate, and Count Friedrich von Montfort around the village. During the so-called " Duch Rother War " came on both sides of deaths and injuries, as well as robbery and fire in the village.

In the 16th century, the town hall was built, which today is one of the oldest in Rhineland- Palatinate.

Duchroth part of the " Nahe wine-growing area " in the Nahe region. In place eleven wineries operate, the area under vines is 35 hectares.
