Laubenheim

Laubenheim is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Langenlonsheim.

Geographical location

Laubenheim lies on the Nahe River shortly before its confluence with the Rhine. To the south, Bad Kreuznach, in the north of Bingen am Rhein.

The place was first mentioned in the year 829.

Coat of arms

The lion in the coat of arms recalls the former belonging to the Palatinate. The grapes refer to the Laubenheim traditionally important for wine-growing.

Viniculture

Laubenheim part of the " Nahe wine-growing area " in the Nahe region. In the village 13 wineries operate, the area under vines is 114 hectares. Approximately 76 % of the cultivated wine are white wine varietals ( 2007). In 1979, 30 companies were still active, the former vineyard of 80 hectares was significantly lower.

By Laubenheim leads the federal highway 48, north of the motorway runs 61 In the village there is a stop on the railway line Bingen- Saarbrücken.
