Grenant

Grenant is a commune of 150 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haute -Marne, in the Champagne -Ardenne region; it belongs to the district of Langres and the Canton Fayl -Billot.

Geography

Grenant lies on the River Salon. Here cross the roads department D7 and D17. The neighboring municipalities are (from north clockwise): Champsevraine, Saulles, Champlitte ( Haute- Saône ) and Coublanc.

The place is occupied in the historical sources of the Via Francigena ( Sigerich of Canterbury ). Today, however, the Via Francigena passes through the neighboring Coublanc on to Dampierre- sur-Salon.
