Hellertshausen

Hellertshausen is a municipality in the district of Birkenfeld, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Rhaunen.

Geography

Hellertshausen lies in the Hunsrück, on the southern edge of the Idarwald. 71.2 percent of the district area is forested. To the east is Hottenbach, in the south of Asbach, to the west and north is Schauren Stipshausen.

History

The village was mentioned in 1331 as Hildertusin.
