Geographical location
Hüffelsheim lies on a plateau above the Close to the natural park Soonwaldsteig -Nahe. In the north- east are Rüdesheim and Bad Kreuznach.
To Hüffelsheim includes the residential places Antoniushof, Marienhof and Wiesenhof.
History
The earliest mention of the place can be found from the year 766 as Uffiliubesheim in the title deeds of the Frankish kingdom Lorsch monastery on the mountain road. In other documents of this monastery Hüffelsheim is at its numerous widely scattered possessions situated further mentioned, for example, in the years 767 to 785 on December 3, 785 Odilher from the family of Otokare gave this monastery all his possessions in Usfiliubesheim. The Powundener bell
During the Second World War, the great bell of the Hüffelsheimer church was confiscated and destroyed in the Hamburg collection by bombing. Therefore, the evangelical church bells asked the Office of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland to find a replacement. On loan from her was left in 1952 one of the two bells from the church of Powunden at Königsberg ( Prussia). As before, the bell tolls for the service.
