Jason Lamy Chappuis

Jason Lamy Chappuis [ lamiʃapɥi ] ( born September 9, 1986 in Missoula, Montana, United States ) is a French nordic combined. It was 2010 Olympic champion in Vancouver ( normal hill ), 2011 world champion in Oslo ( large hill ), and won three times the Nordic Combined World Cup. As a good ski jumper he increased even occasionally the French ski jumpers in the World Cup.

Career

Jason Lamy Chappuis was born in the United States of America. His mother is a U.S. citizen. Today, the family lives in Bois- d'Amont, the home village of his father in the French Jura. He made his debut in February 2004 at the World Cup in Oslo. His first outstanding result in the World Cup was a fourth place in the Gundersen competition in September 2005 in Kuusamo. In Sapporo, he won his first World Cup Sprint in March 2006. At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin Lamy Chappuis competed in all three competitions in nordic combined. In Gundersen competition he finished in eleventh place, with the team and fifth in the sprint he missed a medal in fourth place behind the German Georg Hettich just barely. Previously, he already 2005 at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, but was able to record any appreciable success.

In the season 2006/ 07 Lamy Chappuis won the overall title in the Sprint Cup, the overall World Cup, he finished second. In the inaugural in Liberec at a Nordic World Ski Championships mass start competition he won the bronze medal on 20 February 2009 and eight days later, also in bronze Gundersen competition on the large hill. The 2009/10 season was a success for Lamy Chappuis. She started with a win to kick off the season in Kuusamo, more victories followed in Lillehammer and twice in Ramsau am Dachstein. At the end of the season he won the overall World Cup superior.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Lamy Chappuis won the gold medal in the normal hill Gundersen. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he won the world title in the large hill Gundersen.

On February 22, 2013, at the World Championships in 2013 in the Italian Val di Fiemme, he won the gold medal in the Gundersen individual competition on the normal hill. After jumping Lamy Chappuis was still on the 11th rank 1 minutes 13 seconds behind the leader Håvard Klementsen, during the subsequent ten km run he gave place to place well, reaching the finish line first. Two days later, he won from the same jump again a gold medal for the first time with his colleagues Sébastien Lacroix, François and Maxime Braud Laheurte in the team competition. The single game on the large hill, he won the bronze medal. In the final team competition he could be happy again for a world title, this he won with his team-mate Sébastien Lacroix.

Ski Jumping

So far, Jason Lamy Chappuis was three times at World Cup team competitions in the French team. Best result here was the finals and 8th place in ski flying in Planica in March 2011. At the French Championships in 2011 in Chaux -Neuve he could first decide the individual title at the ski jumping for themselves.
