Geography
Krahenberg is on the Sickinger Höhe in southwestern Palatinate.
History
Chronicle
Krahenberg caused by resettlement, as residents of Wiesbach attracted to the height. So the place is also first mentioned in 1564 under the name Newen Wiesbach on Creenborn. 1635 Krahenberg had died again. From 1700 followed again settlers who moved from the humid valleys to the height. There are several parallels to the Sickinger Höhe. Around 1800, the crows Berger district was formed. On 5 May 1869, the name Krahenberg became widely known after the crows Berger meteorite had fallen here. The impact noise was claimed by the Rhine valley. The meteorite is now in the Palatinate Museum of Natural History in Bad Durkheim.
