Schöneberg, Bad Kreuznach

Schöneberg is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Stromberg.

Geography

Schöneberg is located in the Hunsrück on a ridge of the Soonwald between the Guldenbach and the Gräfenbachtal.

Parish council

The local council in Schöneberg consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman. The twelve seats in the municipal council are divided into two groups of voters.

Economy

In addition to the meager agriculture, the Schöneberg earned in the past their support by Besenbinderei. Many inhabitants emigrated, as in the whole Hunsrück area, to USA and Canada. In the present, the local economy focused on several master craftsmen enterprises of the automotive, electrical, hairdressing, roofing and carpentry industry. Likewise, there are shops for daily needs in the village shops. Mobile selling vehicles of localnear bakers and butchers are also available. Financial services may be partially covered by the local insurance agencies.

Facilities

Beautiful mountain has a local public library, a community center and the volunteer fire department with patrons.

The daycare and elementary school located in the neighboring Schweppenhausen. Secondary schools are available in Wallenhausen and Stromberg (IGS ).
