Éterpigny, Somme

Éterpigny ( Picard: Éterpigny ) is a commune with 175 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton Peronne and is part of the Communauté de communes de la Haute Somme.

Geography

The in the south to the road department D1029 (part of the Chaussée Brunehaut ) extending municipality is crossed by the D1017 ( former National Road 17) and the D62. The eastern boundary of the municipality is the valley of the Somme. Éterpigny is located six kilometers south-west of Peronne.

The no longer operated passenger railway line from Saint- Just-en -Chaussée to Douai via Chaulnes and Peronne performs Éterpigny.

History

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
