2009 Interwetten Austrian Open Kitzbühel
The Interwetten Austrian Open Kitzbühel 2009, a tennis tournament, which took place in Kitzbühel from 16 to 23 May 2009. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2009 and was held outdoors on clay court. In the same week the World Team Cup took place in Dusseldorf, the Serbia decided for themselves.
Defender of the individual was Juan Martín del Potro, who no longer took part in this year's tournament. In the final, the Spaniard Guillermo García- López defeated Julien Benneteau the French in three sets. For García- López was the first success on the ATP World Tour. In doubles, James Cerretani and Victor Hanescu were the defending champions, but they took this year is not more common in the tournament. In the final, the Brazilian duo Marcelo Melo and André Sá defeated the Romanian Andrei Pavel and Horia Tecau Duo.
The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs.
