Chris Dodd

Christopher John " Chris " Dodd ( born May 27, 1944 in Willimantic, Connecticut) is an American politician. From 1975 to 1981 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States from 1981 to 2011 and U.S. senator for the state of Connecticut. From 1995 to 1997 he was also Co - Chairman ( General Chairman ) of the Democratic National Committee.

Dodd is a member of the Democratic Party. He was a candidate for the 2008 presidential election, until he announced his withdrawal from the race after his electoral defeat in the state of Iowa. Since 4 January 2007, he chaired the Banking and Construction Committee of the Senate. Between 1990 and 2010 he is said to have believed up to 15 million dollars in campaign contributions from the financial sector.
