Deutschland sucht den Superstar (season 8)

The eighth season of the German singing talent show Germany sucht den Superstar aired from January 8 to May 7, 2011 at the television station RTL program. The jury consisted of Dieter Bohlen, Fernanda Brandao and Patrick Nuo. Who will be in the top 10?

The first live show of the season eight took place on February 19, 2011. This is the first American Idol live show, which was broadcast in high definition. The show was in contrast to the previous seasons the title " Who will be in the top 10? ". The top 15 candidates sang at the beginning of the show the song Higher by Taio Cruz and Kylie Minogue. The seven candidates with the most votes caller came on directly. Three candidates were then additionally re-nominated by the jury. First Mottoshow

The first theme show took place on February 26, 2011. She wore the motto megahit. The candidates sang the beginning Club Can not Handle Me by Flo Rida.

Dieter Bohlen called Sebastian Wurth as best performers of the first theme show. Fernanda Brandaos favorite of the show was Sarah Engels. Patrick Nuo called Marco Angelini as the best. At 00:10 Marco Schreyl announced that Sarah Engels is excreted. Two shows later, however, she could move up again for Nina Richel.

Second Mottoshow

The second theme show took place on March 5, 2011. She wore the motto Apres - Ski Hits. At first sang the 9 candidates The Time (Dirty Bit) by the Black Eyed Peas.

Special attention in the show gained Nina Richel who suffered multiple failures before and during the show and after the show was picked up by their parents. Richel was taken from RTL from the competition on March 10, 2011.

Third Mottoshow

The third theme show was held on March 12, 2011. She wore the motto Spring fever. The eight candidates were singing at the beginning of the show Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) by Flo Rida.

Sarah Engels took the place of Nina Richel. Anna -Carina Woitschack retired.

Fourth Mottoshow

The fourth theme show was held on March 19, 2011. She wore the motto Partykracher. It is worth mentioning that Michael Buffer at the beginning of the program anmoderierte the jury and the moderator Marco Schreyl. The candidates sang as a group song Yeah 3x by Chris Brown.

Fifth Mottoshow

The fifth theme show was held on 2 April 2011. Each candidate appeared with two songs. The theme of the fifth theme show was Germany against England. The joint opening song of the remaining six candidates was On the Floor by Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull. It is noteworthy that none of the candidates has been eliminated, because at times the phone numbers were exchanged for voting the candidates Zazou Mall and Marco Angelini and thus a correct result was no longer possible.

Sixth Mottoshow

The sixth theme show was held on April 9, 2011. Each candidate appeared with two songs. The theme of the sixth theme show was Europe against America. The joint opening song of the six candidates was Who's That Chick? Rihanna. This theme show was how well the program previously denied with six candidates. Zazou Mall was eliminated.

Seventh Mottoshow

The seventh theme show was held on 16 April 2011. The motto was 80s, 90s and the best of today. Each candidate appeared for the first time this season with three songs and sang a song to each of these headings. The group song which also led through the show, was I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. Sebastian Wurth was eliminated.

Eighth Mottoshow

The eighth theme show was held on April 23, 2011. The motto was Rock, Pop and Disco Fever. The group song which also led through the show, was Crying at the Discoteque by Alcazar. Marco Angelini was eliminated.

Semifinal

The ninth theme show was held on 30 April 2011. The group song was When Love Takes Over by David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland. Ardian Bujupi retired.

Final

The finale was held on May 7. There was a meeting of eight retired top 10 candidates who darboten as a group Higher by Taio Cruz and Kylie Minogue.

The opening group song of the finalists Sarah Engels and Pietro Lombardi was The Time (Dirty Bit) by the Black Eyed Peas.

Between the second and third appearance, the two finalists also sang the song We've Got Tonight by Jeanette Biedermann and Ronan Keating.

Pietro Lombardi is the winner of the eighth season, and thus Superstar 2011.
