Humptrup

Humptrup (Danish: Humtrup, Frisian: Humptoorp ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The community is located about three kilometers km south of the Danish border to the west of Federal Highway 5, the Green coast road in the march. The nearest train stations are in Suderlugum and Niebüll. In the village there is a Danish school ( Bavnehøj - Skolen ).

Municipal council

Of the eleven seats of the municipal council voters Community AWGH had since the local elections 2008 four, the SPD and the SSW three seats; in addition, there was a non-party representatives. The election on May 26, 2013 had the following result: AWGH and SPD respectively four and three seats SSW. The turnout was 55.8 per cent last.

For the election period 2013-2018 Erich Johannsen (SPD ) was elected as the new mayor. He succeeds Andreas HafencityBP that the Office had held 27 years.
