Norderfriedrichskoog

Norderfriedrichskoog (Danish Nørre Frederiks Kog ) is a municipality on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the district of North Friesland.

Geography and transport

Norderfriedrichskoog is approximately 18 kilometers north of Tonning and 20 km southwest of Husum on the North coast of the peninsula Eiderstedt. A few kilometers east runs the main road 5 of Tonning to Husum.

History

The polder was dammed in 1696 under the Privy Council President of Magnus Wedderkop and named after Frederick IV, the then King of Denmark and Duke of Schleswig and Holstein. In 1906 the newly formed foreland was secured by a summer dike, which was further expanded in 1969.

Municipal council

With less than 70 inhabitants, the municipality has, according to § 54 of the Schleswig-Holstein Municipal Code no community representation, but a community meeting, to attend all voting citizens.

Mayor

For the election period 2013-2018 Jann Dircks -Henning was re-elected mayor. It is his third term.

Economy

By Norderfriedrichskoog long been raised no business tax. Especially since the 1990s, therefore, more and more companies settled. Subsidiary of, among others, German Bank, E.ON, Commerzbank, Lufthansa, Siemens, Lidl entertain or talked their headquarters in the community. Since 2004, the municipalities are forced to use federal law fixing a multiplier of at least 200 percent.
