Fresendelf

Fresendelf is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The municipality is situated on the Fresendelf treene and borders Schwabstedt. About three kilometers south runs the federal highway 202 from Norderstapel to Friedrichstadt.

History

The place name means Fries ditch and was first documented in the 15th century.

Policy

Municipal council

Since the local elections of 2008, the voter community WG has all seven seats in the municipal council. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the turnout was 78.0 percent.

Mayor

For the election period 2013-2018 Hans Peter Lorenzen (WG) was re-elected mayor.

Originally coming from Husum German punk band Turbostaat named the sixth song of their record city of fear after the place Fresendelf.
