Bohmstedt

Bohmstedt (Danish: Bomsted, Frisian: Bååmst ) is a town on the border between Schleswig 's Geest and the march in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein. The district Bohmstedtfeld situated in the municipality.

Geography and transport

Bohmstedt is located about ten kilometers north of Husum. To the west of the municipality runs the main road 5, part of the Green coast road.

Policy

Municipal council

Of the eleven seats in the municipal council had the voter community WGA since the local elections in 2008 and six voters Community WGB five. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the WGA was 49.3 percent, four seats. The WFTU came to 50.7 per cent and five seats. It was awarded to only nine seats. The turnout was 55.1 percent.

Mayor

For the election period 2013-2018 Peter Tücksen ( WFTU ) was re-elected mayor.

The wavy line on the left represents the confluence of Arlau and Ostenau while the rooted tree green leaves to represent the place name.

Economy

The municipal area is predominantly agricultural and forestry, which is mainly due to extensive afforestation since the late 19th century. In addition Bohmstedtfeld has since 1996 on a wind farm with nine wind turbines and a biogas plant which started operations in its 2007.

Facilities

The building of the branch of the primary and secondary school Drelsdorf, were taught in the primary classes of municipalities Drelsdorf, Bohmstedt and Ahrenshöft is no longer used since 2007.
