Karlum

Karlum is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Karlum is located about ten kilometers northeast of Niebüll in a rural setting near the Danish border. A few kilometers west runs the main road 5 of Niebüll to Tonder in Denmark, south of State Road 199 from Niebüll to Flensburg.

Policy

Since the local elections of 2008 Wählergemeinschaft all nine seats has in the municipal council. The choice on May 26, 2013 had the same result. The turnout was 53.8 per cent last.

The farmer and politician ( member of the Reichstag of the DNVP 1924-1928 ) Peter bosses ( 1866-1958 ) was born in Karlum.
