Lexgaard

Lexgaard (Danish: Læksgaarde, Frisian: Leeksguurd ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The community is located near the Danish border, east of Federal Highway 5, the Green Coast Road, on the border between Geest and Marsh. The nearest train station is in Suderlugum.

Policy

Municipal council

Due to the decline in the population there since the local elections 2008 not have its own local council more. Took its place, according to § 54 of the Schleswig-Holstein Municipal Code, a community meeting, to which all residents of the community.

Mayor

In the community meeting on June 10th, 2013 Gerhard Hoffmann was elected for the term 2013-2018 again for mayor.
