Jari Puikkonen

Jari Markus Puikkonen ( born June 25, 1959 in Lahti ) is a former Finnish ski jumper. He jumped for the club Lahti Hiihtoseura in his native city.

Career

His debut at an international tournament, he announced on December 30, 1977 at the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf. A few days later he reached with a seventh place at the Innsbruck Bergisel his first placing in the top ten. In 1981 he also won his first World Cup at Bergisel jumping; overall in the Four Hills Tournament, he finished third in the World Cup he won in the winter 1980/81, three more victories and was overall in fifth.

However, his greatest successes achieved Puikkonen at World Championships and Olympic Games.
