List of regencies and cities of Indonesia

This is a list of regencies and cities of Indonesia, one step below the provincial level (sometimes it is in English, "the second level region" - the region of the second level - called ). The Indonesian word kabupaten was here with Regierungsbezirk translated ( it is after the English and Dutch with regency or with county or district translated), the Indonesian word was translated as kota city.

Both government district and city are on the same administrative level. They have their own local government and legislature. Differences between government district and city arising from demographics, size and industry. In general, a government district includes an area larger than a city. Cities are not focused exclusively on agriculture in their activities.

The Government District ( Indonesian kabupaten ) is a provincial government (English regent, Indonesian: Bupati ) conducted during a city mayor (English mayor, Indonesian: walikota ) projects. All Administralen as district president, mayors and their representatives are directly elected for five years. Currently, there are 370 administrative districts and 95 cities in Indonesia. Each government district and every city is further divided into sub-districts / county governments ( Kecamatan ).
