Omiécourt

Omiécourt is a northern French village with 238 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality belongs to the canton Chaulnes and is part of the Communauté de communes de Haute Picardie.

Geography

The municipality is located in Santerre about four kilometers east of Chaulnes to the department streets D1017 (formerly Route nationale 19 and D142. Through the municipal area the disused railway line from Saint- Just-en -Chaussée runs to Douai. Among Omiécourt a part of the community part Hyencourt -le- Petit in the south, extending to the department and the D337 road is intersected by the railway line from Amiens to Laon.

History

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
