Quirnbach, Kusel

Quirnbach / Palatinate is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Glan- Münchweiler. For the in- Westpfalz municipality belongs to the district of Thal lovers.

Markets are demonstrably since 1444 held in Quirnbach. The most famous market and also the only one who is still held today, the Quirnbacher horse market.

History

Quirnbach was first mentioned as a cross- stream in records in 1152, love the valley was named in 1349 as Lybestatt first time. First, the county Veldenz belonging, came Quirnbach 1444 at Palatinate -Zweibrücken. In the same year Quirnbacher markets were first mentioned. Since 1877, a pure horse market was conducted.

On March 9, 1975, the municipality Quirnbach near Kusel from the dissolved municipalities lovers Thal and Quirnbach was newly formed in Kusel and renamed on 1 May 1976 in Quirnbach / Pfalz.

In the district of Thal lovers there was a medieval hilltop castle, the castle lovers Thal.

The local council in Quirnbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Economy and infrastructure

Quirnbach is nationally known for the each year on the second Wednesday held in November horse market. He is regularly visited 19000-30000 people.

At the site over the B 423 runs directly in the northeast is the A 62 in the nearby Glan- Münchweiler is a railway station of Glantalbahn.
