Thallichtenberg
Thallichtenberg is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kusel and is located in Kusel Musicians country in the Western Palatinate. Thallichtenberg is a nationally recognized tourist.
History
1816 came Thal Lichtenberg and Lichtenberg Castle, with the Principality of Lichtenberg, a newly exclave of the duchy of Saxe -Coburg -Saalfeld, respectively in 1826 the duchy of Saxe -Coburg and Gotha. With this they fell to Prussia in 1834, which the district Sankt Wendel created from this area. 1910 Burg Lichtenberg was incorporated into Thallichtenberg .. After the separation of the main part of the circle to the newly created Saar was built in 1920 the remainder circle St. Wendel - Baumholder, was one of the Thallichtenberg until 1937, when it was incorporated into the district of Birkenfeld. 1969 has been reclassified in the district of Kusel. see also Castle Wadenau

Parish council
The local council in Thallichtenberg consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The blazon of the arms is: " In a split plate at the top of a growing silver, rotbewehrter and bezungter, blue lion, down from green and silver triple split on the green bar five silver balls 3-2 ".
Culture and sights
Next to Thallichtenberg is the castle of Lichtenberg, which is the largest castle ruins in Germany with 425 meters in length.
On the Lichtenberg castle there is a geological museum, the Musikantenland museum and a branch of the bathroom Dürkheimer Palatinate Museum of Natural History.

In the south of the A 62 runs from 1936 to 1970 had Thallichtenberg a station on the railway line Türkismühle - Kusel. In Kusel is a station on the railway line Landstuhl - Kusel.
