  • January 8th: On Carl theater in Vienna premiere of the operetta Gypsy Love by Franz Lehár takes place. The libretto by Alfred Maria Willner and Robert Bodanzky. However, Lehár can not quite equal the success of The Merry Widow in 1905 with the piece.
  • January 13: From the Metropolitan Opera in New York City there is the first opera broadcast in the history of radio broadcasting, in which Enrico Caruso's voice sounds even.
  • January 14: Premiere of the George -Lieder op.15 of Arnold Schoenberg on poems by Stefan George takes place in Vienna.
  • February 19: One of the last opera by Jules Massenet, Don Quixote with the libretto by Henri Cain based on the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin will be premiered with the title role in Monte Carlo. The opera was a great success from the start and will soon be listed in all of Europe.
  • FEBRUARY 26: On Wilhelm- Theater in Magdeburg the operetta The chaste Susanne Jean Gilbert will be premiered.
  • February 27: At the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, the opera will be premiered The Captain's Daughter by César Cui.
  • April 2: On the Residenz Theater in Dresden, the premiere of the operetta The last of Jonas Rudolf Dellinger takes place.
  • JUNE 25: Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev Performed by the Ballets Russes in Paris has Igor Stravinsky's ballet L' Oiseau de feu ( The Firebird ) with conductor Gabriel Pierné premiere. The libretto by Michel Fokine based on two Russian folk tales. The piece is the first success of the composer.
  • September 6: The world premiere of the string orchestra piece Tallis Fantasia by Ralph Vaughan Williams will be held in Gloucester.
