Dieterode

Dieterode is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It belongs to the administrative community Ershausen / Geismar.

Location

Dieterode is located approximately eight kilometers south-west of Heiligenstadt in a valley between the mountain height and the Rachel mountain. Neighboring towns are Kalteneber in the northeast, armor and Schwobfeld in the south and Eichstruth in the West.

History

The place was supposedly first mentioned around 1184 under the name " Diethenroth ", partly also the year 1251 is given. Dating back to 1520 Church of the town was rebuilt in 1785. In 1914 a railway station of the railway line Heiligenstadt Schwebda in Dieterode. The setting of the railway operation and dismantling of the track systems took place in 1947 due to the then- zone boundary.
