Deuna

Deuna is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It belongs to the administrative community Eichsfelder boiler. Since December 31, 2013 Vollenborn part of a district within the municipality.

History

The first documented mention was Deuna in 1162, when the Archbishop of Mainz Konrad I gave several goods in Deuna of Wittelsbach Gerode the monastery. The place belonged to the living in neighboring Rüdigershagen Family Hagen Mainz fief. After the destruction of their place of residence in 1315 they moved to the Wasserburg Deuna. 1515 Martin Luther lived at the castle. This was stormed and burned down in 1525 by farmers. The barons of Hagen in 1540 she built up again. By 1896 Deuna remained the property of the Counts of Hagen. One side of the line was then up to the expropriation after 1945 owners. Now a nursing home is located in the property.

In the course of secularization in 1802 Deuna came to Prussia. 1807 to 1813 the city was in the Kingdom of Westphalia, to go with the Prussian County Worbis from 1813.

The village Deuna counted in 1840 according to a statistical study in 1068, Catholic and Protestant 14 inhabitants. The patronage of the Catholic Church held the noble family of Hagen Graf. This had in place two manors, also a sheep. Furthermore Deuna counted 179 houses, 263 stables and barns, three pitchers and giving and four community centers. The school visited 113 school-age boys and 100 girls. In Deuna one operation at this time mainly artisanal linen weaving and textile production, 134 Leinwebstühle were recorded, including a stocking loom. The Roman Catholic priest Gustav Vogt celebrated with Polish forced laborers in 1940 illicit worship, for which he was convicted of " treachery " to prison and then transferred to the Dachau concentration camp, where he died from the effects of torture and hunger. A plaque at his church and a street in the village remember him. At least 14 men and women from Poland and Ukraine had with farmers and forced labor in the sheep farm cooperative.

Business

Since 3 October 1975, the cement plant, which is now self-employed as Deuna Cement Co., Ltd., but Dyckerhoff belongs, the main employer of the town and the county of calibration field. The cement plant in Deuna is one of the seven works that belong to the Dyckerhoff Group. Dyckerhoff Group also has another 2 grinders ( Neuss, Neuwied ).
