Ferna between Ohmgebirge and Hahlethal.

History

Ferna was first mentioned in documents in 1339. From the 16th to the 19th century Ferna was under the Westlife 's court Berlingerode. 1815-1945 was the community to the Prussian province of Saxony. In 1945 she was part of the Soviet zone of occupation, from 1949 the GDR. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Ferna was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, the city is part of the re-established state of Thuringia.

Ferna was on the railway line field - Wulften, which is now closed. Due to the location of the B 247 Leinefelde- Worbis leads to Duderstadt.
