Ecklingerode

Ecklingerode (also: Ecklingerode in the calibration field ) is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field, about three kilometers east of Duderstadt directly on the border of Lower Saxony. It belongs to the administrative community Lindenberg / calibration field.

History

The first documented mention goes back to a deed of gift by Count Hermann of Harzburg and his brother Earl of Werder from 1221. From the 14th to the early 19th century Ecklingerode belonged to Westerhagen 's court Berlingerode. Its sovereign until 1802 Kurmainz. 1802 to 1807 the place was Prussian and then came to the Kingdom of Westphalia. 1815 to 1945 he was part of the Prussian province of Saxony.

1945-1949 was the place to the Soviet occupation zone and was since 1949 part of the GDR. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Ecklingerode was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, the city is part of the re-established state of Thuringia.
