Geography

Brehme in the calibration field, specifically in the calibration field, lies in a long valley on the northern slope of the Ohmgebirges at the foot of the sun stone. The area is dominated by forests and meadows with trails to the ruins and pond in Wildungen, to the Brown Buhl, the sun stone and by the Solbachtal to Fuhrbach and Duderstadt.

History

The first documentary mention of the place as a gift of the Earl of Lutterberg to the Lords of Westlife was 1312. During the Thirty Years' War Brehme was destroyed several times, in 1623 by the troops of the " tunnel Christian ", then the Swedes. From 1749-1753 the church was probably first in Brehme. In the 18th century developed into an artisan village Brehme. The most common occupations were brick factory workers, carpenters, wood workers, migrant workers, musicians and peddlers. In 1909, the potash plant was founded in Bischofferode, there also many Brehmer men found a permanent job opportunity. Around 1930, Brehme was one of the villages most children of the Eichsfeld, on average, each family had 5.5 children, some families at that time even had 12 children.

The blue wave bar is symbolic of the two members of the local hall headwaters and the river of the same name which flows from Brehme to Duderstadt and then flows into the Hahle.
