Krombach, Thuringia

Krombach is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It belongs to the administrative community Ershausen / Geismar.

Location

Krombach is located about nine kilometers south of the county town of Heiligenstadt in Südeichsfeld at the foot of the upper Eichsfelder height. The local situation is framed by mountain height (521 m ) in the northwest, the Hopfgarten ( 480 m) in the northeast and the Giant's Mountain (452 m) in the southwest. In the town of Krombach, who fluently flows south into Ershausen in the Rosoppe springs. Default traffic Krombach is connected through the road L 2026 with the surrounding villages Bernterode and armor.

History

Krombach was first documented in 1318. It was one of the villages of the Office Bishop stone, which passed in 1400 in Kurmainzer possession. Around 1450 the first church building in Krombach is mentioned. The place belonged to Electoral Mainz until the secularisation, 1802-1945 he was part of the Prussian province of Saxony. 1945-1949 was the place to the Soviet occupation zone and was since 1949 part of the GDR. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Krombach has been affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, a part of the place to Thuringia.

From 1914 to 1947 Krombach was connected to the railway Holy City Schwebda with its own railway station.
