Wehnde
Wehnde is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It belongs to the administrative community Lindenberg / calibration field.

Location
Wehnde is located about 7 kilometers northeast of Worbis at a higher level in the hilly calibration field on the edge of Ohmgebirges. The area is dominated by forests, meadows and fields. The northwestern Gemarkungsgrenze also forms the Low Saxon - Thuringian border.
Neighboring municipalities are Ecklingerode in the north, Brehme in the northeast, samples in the south and Teistungen in the West.
On the outskirts there are several small sources, such as the Reese and the Lindenbachstrasse. The highest elevation is the Trogberg ( 502.9 m) in the southeastern municipality.
History
Wehnde 1238 first mentioned. Wehnde belonged from 1573 to the secularization Kurmainz 1802 and was one of the five villages which court of Wintzingerode on the bottom stone. 1802 to 1807 the place became Prussian and then came to the Kingdom of Westphalia. From 1815 to 1945 he was part of the Prussian province of Saxony. In 1945 the city to the Soviet occupation zone and was since 1949 part of the GDR. 1945 Friedrich Wilhelm Freiherr von Wintzingerode -Knorr was expropriated, the family fled to West Germany and 1948 was blown up the mansion of the goods due to command 209 of SMAD. From 1961 until the turn and reunion 1989/1990 Wehnde was affected by the closure of the nearby German border. Since 1990, the city is part of the re-established state of Thuringia.

The heraldic stylized tower symbolizes located in the immediate local vicinity Wehnder waiting. The two oak leaves in silver hills indicate the affiliation to the calibration field and also on the old oak tree at the former estate.

Traffic
Wehnde Located two kilometers northeast of the national road 247 and is conveniently connected via the standard country road in 2017, about which one reached the next station Leinefelde at the Halle- Kassel Railway, 11 km south of Wehnde.
