Gerbershausen

Gerbershausen is a municipality in the Thuringian district of calibration field. It belongs to the administrative community Hanstein - Rusteberg. The municipality belongs to the district of Roth Bach.

History

The first written mention of the town dates back to the year 1120.

Location

Gerbershausen is located in the western part of the calibration field in a valley between the heights of altitude mountain ( with the Devil's Pulpit: 452 m) to the southwest and the Upper Eichsfeld ( with the hen celebrations: 446 m, and the Hamel mountain 421 m) in the northeast. The place is connected via the state road 1002 State Road 80 south of Hohengandern.

Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist

On the eastern edge and above the village stands, built in the years 1751-1777 Baroque Catholic church, St. John the Baptist hallowed hall building. 1934, it was extended by a transept and a choir for cross shape in the east. The construction is mostly from steinsichtigem ashlar masonry. The rectangular nave ends in the east with Dreiseitschluß in the choir. In the West, a slate- covered roof skylights with lantern rises. Ship, transept and choir are surmounted by a barrel vault with lunettes. The seven yokes are separated by transverse arches. The high altar was made in the 19th century using parts from the 18th century. Stalls are baroque with beautifully carved cheeks. The organ was built around 1905 by Louis Krell from Duderstadt and renovated in 1996 by Karl Brode from the Holy City. In the churchyard wall is the sunken stone lintel of an earlier building with rundbogigem Gewändeansatz, the date 1577 and the Hansteiner crest.
