Ellhöft

Ellhöft (Danish: Ellehoved ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

The municipality is located in Suderlugum right near the Danish border, just east of Federal Highway 5, the Green coast road and on the border between Geest and Marsh.

The districts Böglum and Struxbüll lie in the municipality.

History

The territory has been inhabited since the Stone Age. 1935 Böglum was incorporated.

Policy

In the election on May 26, 2013, the voters Community WGE won all seven seats on the municipal council. The turnout was 73.8 percent.

Economy

In 1995, a wind farm company was established in the community, 2000 was the Bürgerwindpark Ellhöft be inaugurated.
