Masters of Rock (festival)

Masters of Rock is a Czech metal festival. It takes place annually in mid-July in Vizovice on the grounds of the distillery Rudolf Jelinek, about 100 km east of Brno, close to the Slovakian border, instead. Vizovice lies in a picturesque valley in the Moravian Wallachia.

The first Masters of Rock was held in 2003 with about 15,000 visitors. By 2006, the festival grew to a size of 50,000 visitors.

The Masters of Rock every year playing around 40 bands. The festival site includes, inter alia, a main stage ( since 2010 Ronnie James Dio Stage) with a concrete audience area, side stage for young bands and a large beer tent. On the grounds well fortified here include countless food and merchandising stalls. A large free campground is offered by the organizer before the festival site, for a small fee but can be camped on private land in entire site.

Since 2010 the festival has its own anthem - the song " Masters of Rock " - played by the Moravian power metal band Salamandra ( co-produced by Sabaton )

Since 2005 each in December, an additional day, the so-called Winter Masters of Rock in nearby Zlin (formerly Gottwaldov ), occur on the other bands.
