Ramstedt, Germany

Ramstedt (Danish: Ramsted ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Ramstedt is located about twelve kilometers south-east of Husum and about five kilometers northeast of Frederick City in a rural environment. South of the village runs the federal highway 202 connects the city with Friedrich Rendsburg.

The municipality is situated on the border of the Eider- Treene lowlands with its vast moors and the Geest.

History

It is a dolmen grave in the municipal area has a prehistoric settlement of the town. Ramstedt was first mentioned in 1378. North of the village there are bunkers from the Second World War in the Geest.

In 1994, the Ramstedt an award as the greenest town in Schleswig -Holstein.

Municipal council

Of the nine seats in the municipal council voters Community AAWG since the municipal election 2008, five seats and the voter community WGR four. In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the AAWG received 68.1 percent, six seats. The NWGR came with 31.9 per cent to three seats. The turnout was 64.3 percent.

For the election period 2013-2018 Christa Reese ( AAWG ) was re-elected mayor.
