Südermarsch
Südermarsch (Danish: Sønder Marsk ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein.
Geography and transport
Südermarsch is located about 5 km south of Husum in a rural environment. To the west of the municipality runs the B5, the Green Coast road. Südermarsch is an independent municipality since 1934.
Südermarsch is one of the most sparsely populated municipalities in Schleswig -Holstein.
History
Südermarsch is situated in a marshy area that could be developed in late. Even today, the area must be drained. For this reason, there are two pumping stations in the community.
Policy
Municipal council
Since the local elections of 2008, the voters Community WGS all seven seats in the municipal council. In the local elections on 26 April 2013 change took place. The turnout was 59.7 percent.
Mayor
For the election period 2013-2018 Karl Jochen Maas ( WGS ) was re-elected mayor.
Economy
The municipal area is predominantly agricultural.
