Wester-Ohrstedt

Wester- Ohrstedt (Danish: Vester Ørsted ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland Schleswig -Holstein. Ohrstedt Station and brake Castle / Westerholzmuehle lie in the municipality.

Geography and transport

The community is located about 10 km east of Husum on the main road 201 from Husum in Schleswig.

History

Burial mounds from the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age evidence of early settlement of the township. In total, more than 40 finds and 11 grave mounds are known.

In the period 1200-1420 was located in the southwest of the present village area, the Haneburg. The investments could well be called a motte, nothing of which is today but recognizable. Only the name of a street and a courtyard still remember them. The town itself was first mentioned in 1438 as Westerohrstede.

Beginning of the year 1770 was the Verkoppelung in which the lands which for the most part were jointly owned by then, the farmers were assigned by lot. A few were also willing to relocate outside of the village in the east or in the south, brake Castle, Wester wood and Arl.

Also, in Wester- Ohrstedt moved with the opening of the Südschleswiger Railway in 1854 and the construction of the railway station in the district today Ohrstedt Station in the age of modernity. Since 1984, there is however no longer stop. The railway line was built by the British, which explains the seemingly idiosyncratic for the region British style of the now-demolished station building.

In 1890 the estate Westerholzmuehle were built on Schwabstedter dam houses on rent basis for Deputatarbeiter. The street is named for the " pension street ". Curiously, the correct name of the road is not clear today. For the houses west of the road is the correct name Wester Wood, east of the houses of the street braking castle.

1956, the former court Ohlingslust was expanded to Air Force Material Depot. This depot still exists today, and employs around 200 people.

The schools in the brake castle and Wester- Ohrstedt were closed in 1964, when the communities Ahrenviöl, Easter and Wester- Ohrstedt Ohrstedt one from all three communities easily accessible villages community school, today's GHS Ohrstedt built.

1968 land consolidation was performed. In the western local area fixed-price houses ( row houses and apartment buildings ) were in the so -called " Eiderbau settlement ", the later Westerende built for members of the armed forces. In 1974 Osterende, Southshore Acker, An de Lehmkuhl, Achter de Wall and Nordahlweg were reported one after the construction areas. In addition, a community hall, which is also used for festivities, built, and since 1997 there is a full urban drains.

In 2011, Wester- Ohrstedt was one of the first communities in Germany, the environmentally aware as street lighting completely to energy-saving LED `s umrüstete.

Also since 2011, the renovation of the village center is planned. As the central building a Markttreff is built. In the Markttreff then is a grocery retail, a baker, a branch of the Volksbank Husum and a gathering area with outdoor terrace. The new and unique is the collaboration with the community Schwesing who also built a Markttreff, but with the emphasis on the social component in the hitting area and the food retail sector is a branch operation of the Wester- Ohrstedter operator. Since 16 December 2013, the Markttreff is opened in Wester- Ohrstedt. In addition to a merchant, a baker and the People's Bank Husum is located there also the congregational meeting room for lectures and meetings of individual stakeholders. The citizen bus runs between the cooperating partner communities Schwesing and Wester- Ohrstedt to the respective events taking place.

Policy

All eleven seats in the municipal council are held by two candidates voter communities.

Economy

Almost every craft union is represented with a company. In addition, for the daily needs is a supermarket and a bakery store available.

Train

The municipality of Wester- Ohrstedt has a Protestant children's garden, where an average of 45 children are cared for. As of August 2013, there is a crib in the nursery are cared for in children under three years. Children and youth of this community attend primary and secondary school Ohrstedt, the first villages Community School Schleswig-Holstein, which was built in 1964 between Wester- Ohrstedt, Easter Ohrstedt and Ahrenviöl. Special and high school students, and high school students attend schools in Husum.
