Adams County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Council.

Geography

The County is located in the north- west of Idaho, on the west by Oregon and has an area of ​​3548 square kilometers, of which 14 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Idaho County, Valley County, Gem County and Washington County.

History

Adams County was formed on March 3, 1911 parts of Washington County. It was named after U.S. President John Adams.

The first people who settled here were some minor tribes of the Shoshone. After that attracted about 1862 several prospectors through this area on the way to the discovery of gold in Ada County.
