Camas County, Idaho

Camas County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Fairfield.

Geography

The County is located just southwest of the geographic center of Idaho and has an area of ​​2795 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Blaine County, Lincoln County, Gooding County and Elmore County. The south of the county extends into the plane of the Snake River Plain.

History

Camas County was formed on February 6, 1917 from parts of Blaine County. It was named after the Big Camas Prairie.

Demographic data
