Payette County, Idaho

Payette County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Payette.

Geography

The County is located in western Idaho, adjacent to Oregon and has an area of ​​1062 square kilometers, of which seven square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Washington County, Gem County and Canyon County. The south of the county lies in the Ebeen the Snake River Plain.

History

Payette County was formed on February 28, 1917 from parts of Canyon County. It was named after the Payette River.
