Latah County, Idaho
Latah County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Moscow.
Geography
The County is located in the north- west of Idaho, on the west by Washington and has an area of 2789 square kilometers, of which a square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Benewah County, Shoshone County, Clearwater County and Nez Perce County.
A part of the county is drained by the Potlatch River.
History
Latah County was formed on December 22, 1864 from parts of Nez Perce County. It was named after the Latah Creek which flows around here.

According to the census of 2000, there were 34,935 people in Latah County. Of these, 3,914 people lived in collective centers, the other inhabitants lived in 13,059 households and 7,770 families. The population density was 13 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 93.94 percent White, 0.59 percent African American, 0.75 percent Native American, 2.10 percent Asian, 0.09 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.77 percent from other races groups; 1.76 percent are descended from two or more races. 2.12 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 13,059 households out of which 27.9 percent of children under the age of 18 living with them. 50.5 percent were married couples living together. 6.1 percent were single mothers and 40.5 percent were non-families. 26.3 percent of all households and 6.3 percent living alone who is 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.93.
20.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 24.5 percent between 18 and 24 years 26.9 percent between 25 and 44, 18.9 percent between 45 and 64 years. 9.5 percent were 65 years or older. The average age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 107.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over 108.1 males.
The median household income was $ 32,524, and the median income for a family $ 46,303. Males have a median income of $ 34,734, women $ 24,886. The per capita income was $ 16,690. 7.9 percent of families and 16.7 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
