Latah County, Idaho

Latah County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Moscow.

Geography

The County is located in the north- west of Idaho, on the west by Washington and has an area of ​​2789 square kilometers, of which a square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Benewah County, Shoshone County, Clearwater County and Nez Perce County.

A part of the county is drained by the Potlatch River.

History

Latah County was formed on December 22, 1864 from parts of Nez Perce County. It was named after the Latah Creek which flows around here.
