Caribou County, Idaho

Caribou County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Soda Springs.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme southeast of Idaho, on the east by Wyoming, is located in the south about 60 miles from Utah and has an area of ​​4658 square kilometers, of which 84 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Bonneville County, Bear Lake County, Franklin County, Bannock County and Bingham County.

History

Caribou County was formed on February 11, 1919 from parts of Bannock County. It was named after the Caribou Mountains.
