Lewis County (Idaho)

Lewis County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Nezperce.

Geography

The County is located in northwestern Idaho, is in the west about 20 miles from Washington and Oregon away, has an area of ​​1243 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers of water surface and borders clockwise to the following counties: Nez Perce County, Idaho County and Clearwater County.

History

Lewis County was formed on March 3, 1911 from parts of Lewis County. It was named after Meriwether Lewis, an American explorers, soldiers and administrative officials.
