Shoshone County is a county located in the state of Idaho in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Wallace.

Geography

The County is located in the northwest of Idaho, adjacent to the northeast Montana and has an area of ​​6826 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Bonner County, Kootenai County, Benewah County, Latah County and Clearwater County.

History

Shoshone County was formed on February 4, 1864 as the original County. It was named after the Native American tribe of the Shoshone.
