Ahrenshöft
Ahrenshöft (Danish: Arnshøft, Frisian: Oornshaud ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland, in the north- west of Schleswig-Holstein.
Geography and transport
Ahrenshöft is located about 6 km north of Husum in a rural environment. West extend the federal highway 5 and the railway line from Husum to Niebüll, runs east State Road 200 from Husum to Flensburg.
In the municipality there are gravel pits, some of which are already renatured.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1455 as Vrenshoude.

Municipal council
In the local elections on May 26, 2013, the voters Community A ( WGA ) received 36.5 percent of the vote and three seats. The Wählergemeinschaft B ( WGB ) came to 63.5 per cent and six seats. The turnout was 63.1 percent.
Mayor
For the election period 2013-2018 Manfred Peters ( WFTU ) was re-elected mayor.
Economy
The economic structure in Ahrenshöft is mainly influenced very fragmented. Individual crafts and farms are characteristic.
In addition, in the early 1970s an area east of the town center was chosen as the site of the central landfill of the circle North Frisia.
Personalities
The actor, director, director, writer and pop singer Volker Lechtenbrink (* 1944) lives in Ahrenshöft.
