Ahrenviöl

Ahrenviöl (Danish: Arenfjolde, Frisian: Årnfjål ) is a municipality in the district of North Friesland in the north-west of Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality is part of the Office Viöl.

Geography and transport

Ahrenviöl is located about 15 km northeast of Husum in a rural environment. North of the village is the source of Arlau.

Northwest runs the federal highway 200 from Husum to Flensburg, south State Road 201 from Husum in Schleswig.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1352 as Villa Arenfjold documented.
