Böllenborn

Böllenborn is a municipality in the Southern Wine Route in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bad Bergzabern.

Geography

The nationally recognized tourist resort lies between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest and the Rhine.

As a part of the community Reisdorf is reported.

History

Böllenborn and Reisdorf were first mentioned in a document of Emperor Louis IV from June 14, 1345. By the end of the 18th century the two villages belonged to Electoral Palatinate. 1816 came the two places to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

Religion

In 2007, 60.7 percent of the population Catholic and 23 percent Protestant. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

Parish council

The local council in Böllenborn consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " From black and red split, right a silver white poplar on green ground, beseitet of a silver stone source and a silver source discharge in a green ground, the left upright golden key ".

It was established in 1950 approved by the Mainz Ministry of Interior. The key is reminiscent of the property of the monastery White Castle and poplar ( = Bölle ) and source ( = Born) refer talking on the place name.

Regular events

Kerwe place every September on the 2nd weekend in Reisdorf and on the 3rd weekend in Böllenborn.

Traffic

Böllenborn is connected via bus 546, which runs on Bad Bergzabern to Kandel to the public transport network. Nearest train stop is the train station in Bad Bergzabern.
