Calatabiano

Calatabiano is a city in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, with 5375 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Calatabiano located 44 kilometers north of Catania on the east slopes of Mount Etna. The residents mostly work in agriculture.

The neighboring municipalities are Castiglione di Sicilia, Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, Giardini Naxos, Linguaglossa, Piedimonte and Taormina.

History
